In 2011, TELUS commissioned us to design the interiors for their new headquarters within the TELUS Garden development in downtown Vancouver.
Working with TELUS, the developer and the base building architect, the interiors integrate with the stakeholders’ vision, tying into the building’s larger “garden” concept and contributing to the LEED Platinum Certification.
The design responds to TELUS’ ambitions, which included, incorporating the most state-of the-art workplace technologies, shifting 50% of the employees to working on a mobile basis, a 2,000SF in-house TV studio with editing suites, and a 4,800SF Innovation Centre to host the most innovative research programs and showcase new technologies for business applications.
omb was also commissioned to manage and curate the TELUS Garden art program which included organizing a public art competition, organizing a community art RFP, commissioning and purchasing select art works and designing the various interior spaces in tandem with the artists’ conceptualization and creation of the various artworks. Close collaboration and integration of the interior design and the art was a critical success factor for this project.
This project was commenced by omb's predecessor firm McFarlane | Green | Biggar Architecture + Design.
