Capstan SkyTrain Station

omb is architect and prime consultant for the new Capstan Station in Richmond, BC. This new station will serve Capstan Village, a dense new urban mixed use centre in Richmond. It will be the first ‘inline’ SkyTrain station design which involves working closely with the City of Richmond and TransLink to address station operation needs and the City’s ambitious OCP goals for the immediate neighbourhood. The station’s expressive form anticipates and responds to future adjacent developments, while showcasing people’s movement in and around the station. The design includes a civic material palette, including prefabricated hybrid steel and mass timber components.
