In collaboration with The Greater Vancouver Film Festival Society (GVIFFS), omb led the design of the revitalization of the Vancouver International Film Centre. The renovation of the atrium and production room supported the evolution of the GVIFFS business and programming goals in their mission to celebrate excellence in screen-based media. This project was a catalyst for expanding programmatic opportunities and flexibility, positioning the centre as a hub for community gatherings, and developing a broader audience and increased awareness. The re-imagined event space supports a variety of gatherings from social to more formal presentations, screenings as well as rental opportunities. omb’s scope of work included programming, design and documentation, liaising with the landlord for approvals and enquiries throughout the process, building code consultation, cost estimation and assistance with furniture procurement and construction administration.
