omb is providing full architectural and interior design services for a new multi-family residential development on an underutilized sloped site located at 5286 Buchanan Road in Peachland, BC, just steps away from Okanagan Lake. The project will include 13 ground-oriented townhomes accommodated in 3 separate buildings (A, B, and C) together with 9 secondary lock-off suites. The combination of this family-oriented development introduces a range of housing choices for Peachland residents.
The townhomes will have 3 large livable bedrooms with layouts that provide excellent access to natural light, shading, and ventilation. All townhomes have generous ground, second, and third floor outdoor amenity spaces. Building C also includes a rooftop area with pergola structures for shading, privacy, and acoustic buffering from the adjacent highway. The development also includes a shared amenity area along an adjacent lane. The building materials include masonry brick, dark metal cladding as well as clear and tinted glazing. All proposed materials are contextually appropriate, durable, and non-combustible.
The project brings a high standard of livability to the Buchanan Neighbourhood, and further contributes to the area being an attractive, cohesive, and primarily residential enclave. Principal views celebrate Okanagan Lake to the southeast, framed by building massing that optimizes individual privacy with minimal overlook between adjacent townhomes and private outdoor spaces.
