Upon successful completion of the feasibility study, omb has been awarded the next phase of development for the 1805 Feltham Road project. Currently submitted for a development permit and rezoning, the design is motivated by a site specific approach that is inspired by the neighboring context. This 36,150 sf rental housing project aims to provide the community with an authentically local building and a target proforma of approximately 90-100 suites.

To maintain a residential feel, the overall building form is configured as a collection of smaller elements that are distributed across the site, responding respectfully to the adjacent dwellings. The simple but elegant design introduces pockets of landscaped green spaces and maintains the existing pedestrian pathway through the site to preserve existing connections to the surroundings. The building forms delicately step down along the natural slope of the site, with the outer blocks nestled into the landscape and the centre entry set back for a pronounced and legible entryway.
