The Surrey Central SkyTrain Station upgrades enhance capacity, accessibility, and the overall passenger experience at one of Metro Vancouver’s primary transit hubs. Developed in collaboration with TransLink and the City of Surrey, the project repositions the station within its evolving urban context while strengthening its role as a key connection within the regional transportation network.
The new North Station House expands the station footprint while improving circulation, safety, and passenger flow. The addition reorganizes entrances and connections, creating a clearer and more efficient movement network throughout the facility. The project also establishes a renewed public presence, aligning the station with surrounding development and contributing to a more legible and accessible urban interface.
A simple glazed volume defines the new structure, with its form shaped at ground level by pedestrian activity and program requirements. The interior emphasizes vertical movement, integrating circulation, structure, and building systems within a clear and coordinated architectural framework. Together, these interventions create a flexible and resilient transit environment that supports both operational performance and an improved experience for daily commuters.
