Prince George Airport has contributed to a strong civic identity, for the local community, as being the gateway into northern British Columbia. The design provides generous, warm and welcoming spaces, showcasing the regions forest industry with extensive use of wood in the departure lounge and arrivals areas. The three phased expansion and renovation provides a safe interface between the travelling public and the more industrial nature of airport operations. The project includes the detailed planning and implementation of the back of house baggage handling and cargo processing systems and a new international departures area and associated customs facilities.
