The existing facade at the rear lane is opaque and utilitarian.

One of the ambitions of the project was to activate the rear lane and transform its generous dimensions into a lively public space. A stair connection between lower (rear) and upper (side) lanes stitches together Beatty St and the lane, facilitating pedestrian traffic from BC Place to the laneway.
